Awards to the Toppers
We felicitate the toppers in B.Tech, and M.Tech in Leather Technology examination of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly WBUT), Kolkata and Anna University, Chennai and Footwear Technology examination of different Footwear Training Institutes all over India on the following occasions:
a. B. M. Das Memorial Medal to the toppers of B.Tech & M.Tech in Leather Technology Examination of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly WBUT), Kolkata and Anna University, Chennai.
b. J. M. Dey Memorial Medal to the toppers of B.Tech in Leather Technology Examination of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly WBUT), Kolkata.
c. Sanjoy Sen Memorial Medal to the toppers of B.Tech in Leather Technology Examination of HBTI- Kanpur, MIT- Muzaffarpur and few other institutes who offer the courses from all over India.
d. We arrange to felicitate with the Sanjoy Sen Memorial Gold Medal to the composite topper in 4 years of the B.Tech., leather technology examination of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly WBUT), Kolkata
e. We also arrange to facilitate the students of leather technology, selected and nominated (as per norms) by Principal/In-charge of GCELT, Kolkata with P. K. Basu Memorial scholarship.
f. Moni Banerjee Memorial Medal to the toppers in diploma of Leather Footwear Technology examinations from different institutes from all over India like, Aligarah Muslim University, CFTC – BudgeBudge, CFTI – Kanpur, FDDI – Noida & Kolkata etc.
g. J. Sinaha Roy Memorial award to the Author whose article has been adjudged as the ‘Best Article’ published in JILTA in last calendar year.
h. We also felicitate the Best Export Award Winners those are securing the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place consecutively in the last financial year, declared by the Council for Leather Exports.
Social Activities
Relief for West Bengal ‘Aila’ victims
In the year 2009 a wide area of district South 24 parganas of West Bengal was almost washed out with the frail natural calamity namely ‘Aila’. ILTA took an active part to escort and distributed huge relief of a value of around Rs. 1.8 lakh including food, water, medicines etc. to the devastated people, affected with this calamity.
Relief for Nepal disaster victims
In the year 2015 a lion part of the neighborhood country Nepal was destroyed with a massive disaster from earthquake. ILTA donated an amount of Rs. 1.0 lakh towards relief of the divested people, which was handed over to the Consul General of Nepal at Kolkata by our President and General Secretary.
Assistance to the Members
We extend support to the financial stressed members of our association, suffering from severe ailment.
