  • Sanjoy Sen Memorial Lecture<\/strong> on 14th<\/sup> January, the birthday of our late President for several decades<\/li>
  • Moni Banerjee Memorial Lecture<\/strong> on 15th<\/sup> March, the birthday of our late Founder-General Secretary of our Association<\/li>
  • S. S. Dutta Memorial Lecture<\/strong> on 2nd<\/sup> February every year during IILF at Chennai.<\/li><\/ul>

    \u00a0<\/strong>2. Publications<\/strong><\/h3>

    ILTA have published the following text books related to leather & allied industry:<\/p>

    1. An Introduction to the Principles of Physical Testing of Leather by Prof. S.S. Dutta<\/li>
    2. Practical Aspects of Manufacture of Upper Leathers by M. Dey<\/li>
    3. An Introduction to the Principles of Leather Manufacture by S. S. Dutta<\/li>
    4. Analytical Chemistry of Leather Manufacture by K. Sarkar<\/li>
    5. Comprehensive Footwear Technology by Mr. Shome Nath Ganguly<\/li>
    6. Treatise on Fatliquors and Fatliquoring of Leather by Dr. Samir Dasgupta<\/li>
    7. Synthetic Tanning Agents by Dr. Samir Dasgupta<\/li>
    8. Hand Book of Tanning by Prof. B. M. Das<\/li><\/ol>
      • ILTA have been publishing its 75 years old monthly technical journal namely Journal of Indian Leather Technologists\u2019 Association (JILTA).<\/li><\/ul>

        3. Awards & Scholarships<\/strong><\/h3>
        • ILTA presents awards in the name of Prof. B. M. Das Memorial, Sanjoy Sen Memorial, Prof. J. M. Dey Memorial, Prof. Moni Banerjee Memorial and Prof. S. S. Dutta Memorial Medals to the top rankers at the University Graduate and Post Graduate levels.<\/li><\/ul>
          • Also, ILTA presents Prof. J. Sinha Roy Memorial Award for the author of the best contribution for the entire year published in the monthly Journal of the Indian Leather Technologists\u2019 Association (JILTA).<\/li><\/ul>
            • From the year 2023, ILTA has started to present a Scholarship namely Prof. Moni Banerjee Memorial Scholarship to a student of B. Tech \/ M. Tech in Leather Technology who is meritorious but financially crippled.<\/li><\/ul>

              4. IULTCS Congress<\/strong><\/h3>

              The International Congress of IULTCS used to held in different locations of the world once in two years. In its 128 years long history, for the first time the Congress was held in January 1999 outside the developed countries and that too in India at CLRI, Chennai. Indian Leather Technologists\u2019 Association organized the Congress under the able leadership and guidance of Late Sanjoy Sen,<\/em><\/strong> the then President of ILTA and IULTCS and Dr. T. Ramasami, the then Vice-President of ILTA and Director, CLRI, Chennai.<\/p>

              In the year 2017, the 34th<\/sup> IULTCS Congress was again successfully held at Chennai, India for the second time.<\/p>

              5. LEXPO (Leather Goods Fair)<\/strong><\/h3>

              In order to promote and provide marketing facilities, to keep pace with the latest design and technology, to have better interaction with the domestic buyers, ILTA has been organizing LEXPO fairs at Kolkata from 1977, Siliguri from 1992 and Durgapur from 2010. To help the tiny, cottage and small-scale sectors industries in marketing, LEXPO fairs give the exposure for their products. Apart from Kolkata, Siliguri and Durgapur, ILTA have organized LEXPO at Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Guwahati, Jamshedpur and Ranchi. It commensurate with the time, demand and new perspective of the modern-day leather users.<\/p>

              According to the change of global market scenario and buyer\u2019s perception, ILTA planned to organize LEXPO at Kolkata in the year 2022 in a new shape with the quality Manufacturers and Exporters of Leather Goods from all over India who were also keenly interested to develop a domestic market for their products.<\/p>

              With the above objectives, ILTA in collaboration with ILPA organized the 41st<\/sup> Edition of Kolkata LEXPO at Kolkata Ice Skating Rink from 8th<\/sup> to 16th<\/sup> January, 2022 where a large number of quality leather goods consumers visited that exhibition cum sale.<\/p>

              6. International Seminars<\/strong><\/h3>
              • Golden Jubilee Celebration:<\/strong> ILTA celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a yearlong programme from 14th<\/sup> August\u2019 2000 to 13th<\/sup> August\u2019 2011 consisting with different memorial lectures along with the first conference of South East Asian Countries at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata.<\/li><\/ul>
                • Diamond Jubilee Celebration:<\/strong> ILTA celebrated its Diamond Jubilee with a yearlong programme from 14th<\/sup> August\u2019 2010 to 13th<\/sup> August\u2019 2011 which included National Seminars, B. M. Das Memorial Lecture, Sanjoy Sen Memorial Lecture, Prof. Moni Banerjee Memorial Lecture, Prof. Y. Nayudamma Memorial Lecture and 3 day\u2019s AICLST (Asia International Conference on Leather Science and Technology) at Hotel \u2018The Stadle\u2019 at Salt Lake City, Kolkata.<\/li><\/ul>
                  • Platinum Jubilee Celebration:<\/strong> ILTA is going to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee with a yearlong programme from 14th<\/sup> August, 2025 to 13th<\/sup> August, 2026 along with the 14th<\/sup> Asia International Conference on Leather Science & Technology (AICLST) at Kolkata as it was done during the above couple of celebrations.<\/li><\/ul>

                    7. Post-COVID Activities<\/strong><\/h3>

                    During this session when the global fraternity were passing through a recession period, ILTA has been able to carry out its activities with new mission & vision to support the Indian leather fraternity. The following activities have been undertaken by ILTA during this period.<\/p>
