As the oldest and most respected body of leather technologists in India<\/strong>, the Indian Leather Technologists\u2019 Association (ILTA)<\/strong> is poised to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee Year in 2026<\/strong>, marking 75 years<\/strong> of dedicated service to the leather fraternity. Since its inception, ILTA has stood as a unifying force, committed to the advancement of leather science, technology, and industry in India and across borders.<\/p>

Our primary objectives<\/strong>, which continue to guide our mission and inspire our initiatives, are as follows:<\/p>

  1. To Unite the Leather Fraternity under One Umbrella<\/strong>
    ILTA\u2019s foremost aim is to bring together all stakeholders of the leather and allied industries\u2014from scientists, technologists, and researchers to manufacturers, exporters, policymakers, and students\u2014on a single national platform<\/strong>. By fostering unity and collaboration, we aim to build a more cohesive and progressive leather sector in India.<\/li><\/ol>
    1. To Promote Knowledge Sharing through Seminars, Symposium & Workshops<\/strong>
      ILTA regularly organizes national and international seminars, symposium, workshops, and technical sessions<\/strong> to encourage the exchange of ideas, latest research findings, and technological advancements<\/strong>. These events serve as dynamic forums for interaction<\/strong>, where industry experts, academicians, and young professionals come together to discuss opportunities, challenges, and future prospects of the industry.<\/li><\/ol>
      1. To Publish and Disseminate Technical Knowledge through JILTA<\/strong>
        To support our educational and developmental goals, ILTA publishes a monthly peer-reviewed technical journal<\/strong> titled the Journal of Indian Leather Technologists\u2019 Association (JILTA)<\/strong>.
        Recognized as the oldest and most widely circulated journal in the leather sector<\/strong>, JILTA serves as an intellectual supplement to our events and acts as a valuable resource for technologists, researchers, and students<\/strong> alike.<\/li><\/ol>
        1. To Publish Authoritative Textbooks for Learners and Practitioners<\/strong>
          ILTA is deeply committed to education and capacity-building. We publish comprehensive textbooks<\/strong> on topics such as leather processing, leather chemicals, footwear manufacturing<\/strong>, and more\u2014targeted toward students at various academic levels, researchers, and industry professionals, ensuring access to credible and updated learning resources.<\/li><\/ol>
          1. To Bridge the Gap Between Urban and Rural Leather Sectors<\/strong>
            Recognizing the vital role of rural artisans and small-scale producers in India\u2019s leather landscape, ILTA strives to build strong linkages between urban technological centres and rural craftsmanship<\/strong>. Through developmental projects, training programs, and outreach activities, we aim to foster inclusive growth and modernization in the rural leather economy.<\/li><\/ol>
            1. To Support Policy Formulation and Governmental Collaboration<\/strong>
              ILTA works in close coordination with government ministries, policy-making bodies, and autonomous institutions<\/strong>, offering expert advice, recommendations, and consultations. Our goal is to assist in shaping pragmatic, industry-friendly policies<\/strong> that are both scientifically sound and economically viable.<\/li><\/ol>
              1. To Conduct Skill Development and Training Initiatives<\/strong>
                Understanding the need for a skilled workforce, ILTA regularly conducts hands-on training programs, workshops, and technical demonstrations<\/strong>.
